Parsons Municipal Auditorium
Grand Reopening
Since it's grand reopening, the Parsons Municipal Auditorium has established itself as one of the premier entertainment venues in the Midwest.
History
A classic, 1920s-era civic auditorium, the Parsons Municipal Auditorium has served as the social center of Parsons and the surrounding area for over 70 years.
It has been home to a variety of community-based activities, and scores of well-known entertainers have graced its stage.
Renovations
General deterioration and a partial ceiling collapse forced the auditorium's closure in 1974. It remained unused for more than a decade, until a groundswell of public sentiment launched an extensive restoration project. In March 1989, the beautifully renovated auditorium reopened for the first time in 15 years.
Past Events
In the years since reopening, more than 500,000 people have filed through the doors of this venerable 1,568-seat venue. With its excellent acoustics and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, coupled with comfortable seating and generous sight lines, its easy to understand why both performers and audience members alike give rave reviews to the auditorium.
